Getting Started
The Thrash N’ Bang Forum is integrated into the website and enables users to easily post topics and replies on any subject they choose.
The forum is public domain and therefore can be read by all who visit the site. However, in order to post a new topic or reply to an existing topic, you must be a registered TNB user.
If you’ve already registered a username and valid password with the site, then you are all set to go. If not, you can register by either clicking the register link at the bottom of any site page or by using the registration form on the forum page.
Once registered, each user is given their own personal profile page with lots of options to add as much or as little info as desired. New to each profile, the user can now appoint their own personal Avatar (user image).
The Forum page has a very simple structure. It is split into three sections; 1) the registration/profile section (which can be minimized), 2) the main forum section, and 3) an info section.
- The registration/profile section will either display a login/register form (if you are not logged in/registered) or your user profile welcome menu (if you are logged in). The user profile welcome menu provides several options which are self explanatory. At the top, you will note an Inbox tab. Every registered TNB user receives their own private inbox that enables them to send/receive messages to/from any other registered TNB user. Clicking the inbox tab will bring you to your own private TNB inbox page where you can read or compose messages.
- The main forum section is where you read and post topics. Initially it will display the main forum link, “TNB Forum”. Clicking that link will display a list of all the available topics. From this view, you can add new topics by clicking the “New Topic” tab at the right. Clicking any topic link will display the thread associated with that topic. From the topic thread view, there are two ways to replay to a topic; 1) by clicking the reply tab at the top right (which provides the user with several emoticons) or 2) by using the quick reply box at the bottom of the thread. Subscribing to a topic (top right tab) will keep you apprised of any changes (via email) associated with the topic (i.e. new replies).
- The last section is the info section which provides a general summary of recent forum activity.
As far as rules go, we only have one very simple rule:
- “The TNB Forum, just like the website, is all about having fun. So please do have fun, but not at another’s expense. This means, please respect each other. Our moderator will be keeping track of the forum and can/will ban any user that is deemed as being inappropriate.”
So have fun, and keep Bangin’.
