- About
- We come from Boston to bring you the music we like. If you like it too, great, come to a show, tear it up and buy an album.
- Biography
- Refuse Resist is a combination of punk and hardcore that brings you back to when good music came out of the area. Influences range from The Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Black Flag to Slapshot, Sick of it All and Judge. There was a time when music was life, and life was music. A time when people communicated with each other face to face. Whether it was a club or a basement, music was easy to find and a lot of kids were into it. Refuse Resist was formed to try to bring those ideals back into the present through good straight up hardcore/punk. A blend of all sides of punk and hardcore create the unique sound from this Boston band. So, come on all of you into punk rock, hardcore and oi. Refuse Resist! Our debut CD was released on August 3rd through Rodent Popsicle Records and is called “Mind: Yourself” It is available for purchase on iTunes, through our Myspace, or at any show you come to!

- “If “Captain” and “Fashion Show” from Mind: Yourself felt like invitations to break a bunch of shit, “IRS” and “Sunday Matinee” command you to break everything you own, then sneak into your neighbors’ houses and break everything they own.” – Barry Thompson – The Boston Phoenix
- “With variety spread to all elements of the rhythm section, Socialized’s 26 minutes of music buzzes with a give-and-go feeling, and just about every song has a memorable vocal hook to it.” – Jordan – Pastepunk.com
- “Lyrically, they are rebellious and politically charged they are also one of the tightest bands that I have had on the show. They represent everything that was good about hardcore punk rock, but by no means are they a throwback band. “ – TJ Welch – Sonic Lobotomy
- “Mind: Yourself isn’t out to waste anyone’s time, and it doesn’t aspire to anything beyond fast, gnarly rage chow à la Minor Threat and Agnostic Front and maybe Trouble. It’s a splendid ambiance for those occasions when every single piece of furniture in the room must be destroyed.” – Barry Thompson – The Boston Phoenix
- “It’s almost as if The Circle Jerks, The Dead Kennedys and Blood For Blood got together and had a bunch of bastard children called Refuse Resist” – Ron Sprague – Motif Magazine
