- About
- CHAPTER I: FORMATION
First brought together amidst a tempest of triple-decker all night ragers on the mean streets of Worcester, Mass, the American Mother Fuckers united with a common purpose to ROCK. With a barrage of face-fucking punk shows at Wormtown’s best bars, they were quickly fixing to take the New England punk scene by storm. - CHAPTER II: HIATUS
But then! The Mother Fuckers scattered. As the crumpled newspapers from bygone days blew around on the dirty streets of Allston, the American Mother Fuckers music was not being heard; the rock had gone silent. - CHAPTER III: RESURRECTION
The American Mother Fuckers have returned again to violate the ears of Boston with whiskey-soaked mayhem! They strum their strings and bang their drums in the bars and nightclubs of Greater Boston, and like wolves they howl at the moon in manic exaltation of the great immortal spirit of ROCK N ROLL. - Biography
- The story of the American Mother Fuckers begins in the spring of 2005. Bill Howe and Spencer Caddigan, roommates at Clark University in Worcester, MA, decided to be in a band together. Both had prior experience, with Spencer playing saxophone in the seminal ska band Axis of Evil! and Bill playing guitar in anarcho street punk band The Cliches (now known as The Monkey Wrench Gang). With Spencer looking for an alternative to playing shows to jailbait high school girls in Connecticut all the time, and Bill tiring of the hyper political messages of The Cliches, the two decided to form a band that focused on one of their mutually favorite activities: drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Fusing their drunkenness with their love of old school punk and rock n roll, they set out on a mission, not only to have a drunken good time, but to save rock n roll from the vapid wasteland of mainstream radio and television. In the winter of 2005, they recruited Mark Duhaime (formerly of Attaboy) on bass and Damian Boyar (now also a member of Axis of Evil!) on drums, turning the dream into reality. They played their first show in April of 2006 at Clark, and since then have become an unstoppable force of Drunk ‘n Roll. They recently released their first EP, the Cape Cod Sessions Vol. 1, consisting of five songs about life, love, and drinking. More material has recently been recorded, so new releases can be expected in the near future. During the fall of 07′, Mark left for England, and has been temporarily replaced by Dre Boyar (of Crooked Picture).
