- Tijuana Sweetheart was founded in 2005 when co-workers Leeanne, Hellion, and Heather (“Scrotch”) realized their shared appreciation for loud, shitty music. We picked up Elena a few weeks later when we discovered she doesn’t suck that bad. Heather quit because she has important shit to do, and Leeanne tracked down the lovely LoWreck. For almost 2 years we got drunk together and played songs about hating stuff. Recently, Elena moved back to sucky, uh… I mean sunny California and Leeanne has decided to move to a farm in New Mexico to milk cows and pull weeds. We then replaced these 2 lovely ladies with the menacing Ivahna Rock on bass and Smokey on lead guitar. Most recently, the lovely and talented Ivahna Rock has decided to abandon us because she is sick of losing all the fart contests. We will miss her tremendously and wish her the best of luck in all her super-rockin’ adventures. In her stead, we have managed to acquire the very sexy Julie TwoTimes! Then when Smokey left in 2010, we had some down time, as apparently it takes a good while to find a lead guitarist as EPIC as Keri Medeiros! She started squeedling with us in the summer of 2010. In October 2009 we were nominated for a Boston Music Award and changed our name to VAGIANT Boston then in January of 2010 our name changed to Tijuana Sweetheart for legal reasons.

- Tijuana Sweetheart (formerly known as VAGIANT and VAGIANT Boston) is an American all-female punk rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. The band was initially formed in 2005 by four employees of the gaming company Harmonix after Helen McWilliams (stage name Hellion) sent around an email to the entire company. Since forming, the band has gone under several member changes leaving McWillliams and LoWreck as the only remaining original members. Most of their notoriety has come from the inclusion of “Fuck the Kells” (censored “FTK”) in Guitar Hero II and “Seven” in Rock Band. In October 2009, the band announced it was changing its name from “VAGIANT” to “VAGIANT Boston”. It also announced the release of a new album, Trash Candy. Later they asked their fans to help them come up with a new name for the band. After hundreds of often off-beat band name suggestions from fans, the band selected Tijuana Sweetheart in January 2010 – a name which comes from a cocktail of the girls’ invention (and from the band’s unique slang term for ‘a prostitute’). Tijuana Sweetheart’s music features a fast paced, high energy punk rock base. Stylistically and vocally they are akin to Joan Jett and The Distillers, while lyrically coming off as abrasive and blunt as their sound. Their lyrics are occasionally highly sexual, and often pertain to both genders. Tijuana Sweetheart is a staple band for the Boston area and even features landmarks such as The Kells in their music, and have performed live with such bands as Bang Camaro, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, DMZ, and the Ducky Boys.
