Another great matinee show that we had nothing to do with except that we attended. And we did so with glee as this was quite a lineup and appealed to our very delicate artistic sensibilities, so to speak. This dual texting review was conducted right after New Year’s and, as your probably aware of from all the photos in the tabloids, Andy Bang’s unfortunate arrest.

But have no fear, we feel he will be rightly exonerated as he is suffering from post-traumatic symptoms from a Narragansett can lodged in his brain, the unfortunate outcome of a previous brain surgery operation. And as always we must caution trying out this dual texting review at home because the medical community strictly warns against this and Andy’s condition is evidence of how wrought with danger this activity can be. But for now, put your mind at ease, sit back, relax, let your senses flow into one congealing slab of grease and enjoy.

Slimedog- I guess you had quite the time in Times Square on New Year’s

Andy Bang- Yes, it was quite awesome. I paid a dude to let me hang off the ball when it drops at midnight.

Slimedog- Yeah, I heard you were hanging on the outside of it when it fell. Sounds exciting especially when the police moved in.

Andy- Yah, folks gotta really lighten up. I mean no one got hurt, although I did hear my nuts crack on impact.

Slimedog- Well, the Nutcracker is in keeping with the holiday spirit. What about that first band Tensor?

Andy- Speaking of the Nutcracker, before I left New York I managed to see the Italian version of that ballet, called the “Ball Buster.” Anyway, I thought Tensor was very spritely.

Slimedog- They’re a fun band to see, mayhem reigns when they play. Hardcore with punk spirit.

Andy- I couldn’t agree more.

Slimedog- And they’re playing our show Saturday.

Andy- Yes, it will be quite the shindig. I’m having my tux altered as we speak.

Slimedog- And I’m packing extra underwear as it will be so exciting I’m sure to soil myself.

Andy- I also mentioned to Jill (the Midway bartenderess) to make sure all the bathrooms are fully stocked with extra toilet paper.

Slimedog- War With Words was next. Though technically they were excellent, I found them almost alternative in style.

Andy- Sort of like asparagus with a tinge of parsley.

Slimedog- What?

Andy- Umm, I think that ‘Gansette stuck in my head is acting up again.

Slimedog- Oh, No! How dreadful. The next band had a singer with a green Mohawk. I’m glad that ours were of a different shade.

Andy- True. I really enjoyed Drug Shock. Lots of energy and excitement.

Slimedog- They were traditional punk with a lot of anti-society lyrics and were very good. Then came Reason To Fight.

Andy- Yes, it’s been a while since I witnessed our favorite traditional hardcore brothers out of Rhode Island.

Slimedog- Yeah, some of their new songs had an almost metal feel to them but they’re still great.

Andy- Sounded like they had a few new tunes or maybe my brain was malfunctioning again.

Slimedog- And talking about great, Opposition Rising was the headliner.

Andy- Not sure my vocab contains enough complimentary words to articulate just how incredibly fucking awesome Opposition Rising is.

Slimedog- One of our best bands, hardcore with socially conscious lyrics. There was amazing moshing going on.

Andy- They whipped the crowd into a frenzy. I can’t remember having that much fun since my last brain surgery,

Slimedog- They have serious songs but their singer is a howl. Yeah, you still need that surgery. I give up. Maybe we should have someone else give it a try.

Andy- No problem, my dog Snipit says he’ll give it a try. Anyhow, I can’t wait for our next show Saturday afternoon at the Midway with Bourbon Scum, Seven Year Plan, The Doll Eyes and Tensor. See you all there.
