Dual Texting Review by Andy Bang & Slimedog

Using the foremost in scientific discoveries Andy Bang and Slimedog forge new paths in the ever evolving world of live reviewing. Proceed and prepare to be amazed!

Slimedog- Well, we’re at the fireworks display on a beach where they let people set off real fireworks about 20 feet away from you with bonfires of fifty stacked chairs going on, it looks to me like the end of the world.

Andy Bang- Yes, especially being up close and personal. The bombs are falling all around us. Oh, oh! here comes a bottle rocket straight for our heads!

Slimedog- Someone should’ve told Jimmy Thrash that. Did you see the rocket that just shot into his anus and then shot him clear into the harbor?

Bang- I know, that had to hurt a bit, but lucky for Jimmy that he can swim.

Slimedog- Yes and the people do say he talks out of his asshole so that won’t change. When we heard that the first band was from Connecticut our ears perked up and our glands started to salivate. So many good bands from there. And Cry Havoc is a great straight ahead hardcore band.

Bang- Yes, Cry Havoc was awesome.

Slimedog- First time for us seeing them, “In Your Eyes,” a Minor Threat cover, was unbelievable.

Bang- Yes, we definitely need to check them out again soon.

Slimedog- And the person running with their hair on fire needs to check into a hospital. Antibodies was next, there’s a bunch of guys I wouldn’t want to tangle with.

Bang- Antibodies are another really awesome band.

Slimedog- One of the best around. They’re from Cape Cod another good place for bands to be from.

Bang- And veterans of the Boston music scene.

Slimedog- Capital Radio was the next band.

Bang- Yes, they were a bit different from the others, but still very good.

Slimedog- Not really hardcore in beat more high energy rhythm wise. Hard following two bands that great. I believe that was Jimmy on fire. I’d drive him to the hospital but these fireworks are awesome. Insult was the up next.

Bang- Too bad for Jimmy, I think all that alcohol he consumed is working against him. Yes, Insult was a very interesting trio.

Slimedog- I like how I said they varied the songs to you and you said, “Yeah, thirty second songs with forty five second ones.” But really some were hardcore and some were sludge.

Bang- More seasoned veterans of the music scene. Yeah, I hadn’t heard songs that short since we saw Psycho.

Slimedog- They were very good though they were old, old school, kind of what the Pilgrims listened to, I guess. I hear they don’t play out too often. Though billed as a hardcore show, which it was, each band had a different style.

Bang- True. The last band was The Enemy Within with an old friend on drums.

Slimedog- Yes, Mike Mahoney, a great guy and great drummer. This is a new band and they were very good but even better at the Reagan Youth show I saw a few weeks after this one. They had the best response next to the headliner. They’re hardcore with a definite metal influence.

Bang- I thought The Enemy seemed to blend hardcore with a bit of progressiveness.

Slimedog- Much like Jimmy Thrash blends his first degree burns with his blood loss.

Bang- All the bands made for a very entertaining night of music.

Slimedog- Agreed, almost matching the fireworks on display tonight. Anything you like to add?

Bang- Not that I can think of. Of course, I hope Jimmy Thrash can make it to the next show. And hope our local music fans will continue making an effort to get out to the clubs and support all these great bands. The music scene in New England is awesome and there’s nothing more exciting than live music.
